There are places that become more than a destination.

For me, Seychelles became a classroom.

Before that trip, I had never been on an airplane. I had never traveled outside the country. I was stepping into the unknown, carrying fear, excitement, and hope all at the same time.

I flew halfway around the world because I believed love was worth taking a chance on.

Standing on those beaches, I realized life is so much bigger than the world I had always known.

I learned that family isn’t always measured by how close people live to one another. Sometimes, the people we love most are separated by oceans, time zones, and circumstances beyond our control.

Today, my husband and I are still living on different continents while we wait for the opportunity to finally build our life together. It isn’t the path we imagined, but it has taught us patience, resilience, and the importance of never giving up on the future we’re working toward.

That experience also changed how I think about home.

Home isn’t just a place.
It’s the people you love.
It’s the memories you create.
It’s the dreams you’re willing to chase together.

Seychelles reminded me that there is a whole world waiting to be explored, and one day, I hope to call another country home—not because I’m running from where I came from, but because I’m running toward the life I’ve been dreaming of.
